Countering Radicalization
In addition to addressing issues of capacity-building, intelligence and other information sharing, and law enforcement cooperation, the Center looks at the underlying conditions that can lead to terrorism, for example, extremism, poor governance, lack of civil rights, human rights abuse, religious and ethnic discrimination, political exclusion, and poverty. The Center seeks to promote a holistic response by multilateral institutions, such as the United Nations and regional and functional entities not only in addressing terrorism but in seeking to address the wider problem of radicalization.
